Zhu'ecun (Near Liangshui)

A small forested hill with no real peak, this is used by locals for prayer, relaxation, and some farming. Older people take their birds or harvest firewood from the underbrush. It is badly maintained and many of the trails have not seen upkeep in some time. A cement path leads you up the hill to a shrine in a cement building.

The real reason to visit though is because this was the site of a battle that occurred between China and Japan near the beginning of World War II. There is a line of fortifications buried in the hillside facing west. Though most of the bunkers are blocked off, you can still see a few pillboxes to the north can be entered, though they are in terrible shape.

Climbing Time: Under 20 minutes

Type of Trail: Some cement pads, some gravel

Difficulty: Easy

Notable features: Bunkers and Pillboxes, a Daoist Shrine, some family shrines
